Peter is an associate with the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Peter practiced Planning Law with a municipality in the Greater Toronto Area, representing the municipality in various matters before the Ontario Municipal Board (now the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal) and other land use related tribunals in Ontario and also providing advice with regard to heritage designation and easement agreements under the Ontario Heritage Act.
Peter has been involved in a wide range of municipal planning and development matters. He has experience with the approval processes regarding official plan amendments, rezoning approvals, subdivision development and Committee of Adjustment minor variance and consent applications, including appeals before various land use tribunals in Ontario. His specialized experience includes preparation of grading, servicing and subdivision agreements, registration of commercial and residential subdivisions, as well as appearances before the Niagara Escarpment Hearing Office on appeal matters related to applications for development permits under the Niagara Escarpment Planning and Development Act.
On a day to day basis Peter provides strategic advice, conducts legal research, liaises with consultants and municipal staff, assists with and makes representations before municipal committees and councils and assists with settlements with municipalities and other interested parties.
