Ontario Heritage Act - A Sourcebook

How to use Wood Bull's Ontario Heritage Act: A Sourcebook

The Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.18 consists of the following components: Definitions and seven Parts.  This online sourcebook is organized into the same components, as set out in the Table of Contents provided in the navigation toolbar to the right.

For each of the Parts, we have provided an introduction followed by an analysis of the subsections of the Act under the heading "Annotated Act".  For each subsection, our annotations include the legislative history of the subsection and, where applicable or appropriate, we have also provided Wood Bull commentary, related sections of the Act, related statutes, related regulations and/or forms, and case law.  Click on a subsection title to view the entire text of the subsection of the Act, followed by the annotations for the particular subsection.

For ease of reference, we have italicized the terms in the Act that are defined.

This sourcebook also includes several flow charts summarizing the various processes set out in the Act.

Note: Material on the Wood Bull website is intended as general information and commentary.  In order to make the Ontario Heritage Act: A Sourcebook a useful resource, we welcome any comments and suggestions.  Please email us.
