Toronto is hosting another Chief Planner Roundtable discussion on April 2, 2013 on "The Next Generation Suburbs".
The Chief Planner Roundtable discussions are an opportunity to engage in a dialogue with Toronto’s Chief Planner Jennifer Keesmaat and 12 other city-building experts about creative and wide-ranging ways to address some of the significant challenges and opportunities in building Toronto.
The next scheduled Roundtable is on Toronto’s First Generation Suburbs. First developed in the post-war years, Toronto’s suburbs have undergone social, economic and demographic changes and are under pressure for change. From the City’s website: This roundtable will discuss, "What is the Toronto suburb"? How does it look and function differently from the older city and 905 suburbs? The roundtable will showcase some recent suburban transformations. What kinds of changes are needed? What were the factors that triggered change? What are the road blocks to change?
