Halton Region Releases Draft Environmental Impact Assessment Guidelines

The Region of Halton has released a draft guideline document for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).  The draft EIA Guidelines provides direction to the proponents of development in determining when an EIA is required, and identifies the recommended procedures and technical requirements for completing an EIA.  The draft EIA Guidelines can be downloaded from the Region of Halton's website

The draft EIA Guidelines is part of a series of official plan amendment guideline documents related to the themes of Agriculture/Rural, Infrastructure, Health-Based, and Resource, in compliance with the policy directions in Regional Official Plan Amendment No. 38 (ROPA 38).  The purpose of the guidelines are to provide a clear and predictable process for the review of land use development applications.  The draft guidelines are available on the Region of Halton's website

The Region is seeking comments on the draft guidelines. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2013.
