Draft Guide to Cultural Heritage Resources in the Land Use Planning Process: Proposed Guideline Document Posted on EBR for Comment

Oct 05, 2017

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport is looking for public comment on a draft guidebook titled “A Guide to Cultural Heritage Resources in the Land Use Planning Process”.  The draft guidebook is posted on the environmental registry at this link. You can review it there and provide your comments to the Ministry. Public Comments are due by 17 November 2017.

The guidebook updates a series of information sheets that were published by the Ministry in 2006.   The guidebook is intended to help those involved in the land use planning process in Ontario understand the changes to the cultural heritage policies in Provincial Policy Statement, 2014.  It articulates how the conservation, wise use and management of cultural heritage and archaeological resources are in the provincial interest and how to apply cultural heritage policies.
