Carson is a land use planner with the firm. He assists in preparing and coordinating planning applications and development proposals in municipalities across Ontario. Carson also conducts research on and monitors the latest planning legislation and processes, liaises with clients and consultants, and conducts official plan and zoning by-law reviews and analysis. Carson supports the firm’s lawyers in preparing for and attending hearings before the Ontario Land Tribunal (formerly the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal) and the Toronto Local Appeal Body.
Carson’s previous experience was focused on land use planning, urban design and project management.
Working in a variety of roles for a local municipality, Carson was responsible for interpreting zoning by-laws, reviewing and providing recommendations for proposed developments, managing applications and leading public hearings.
Working for a private developer, Carson was responsible for managing development applications of all scales from start to finish, providing planning expertise, speaking at public hearings, and liaising with government agencies.
